Children's Rights
Summerdown School is proud to announce that we have started working towards becoming a UNICEF Rights Respecting School!
We hope to gain the Rights Respecting Schools Award (RRSA).
Summerdown staff have already begun a series of training events and pupils have begun learning about Children's Rights and UNICEF's sustainable development Global Goals (SDGs).
Pupils from The Lindfield School, which is one of the four schools in the Southfield Trust, currently hold the Gold RRSA badge. Pupils from Summerdown and The Lindfield have met at each other's schools, and plan to work together to share ideas and good practice in supporting Children's rights and Global Goals.
We will be informing parents, carers, friends and the whole school community on our plans over the coming weeks, and we hope that everyone will become involved and support us.
James Bawn (Assistant Head) is our RRSA co-ordinator for the primary department.
Jo Beaumont (Assistant Head) is our RRSA co-ordinator for the secondary department.
Karen Sitwell-Cook (Head) is our RRSA co-ordinator for the Southfield Centre.
